Writing Foundation Tutoring, hourly rate 

• Private face-to-face tutoring
• Building a writing foundation by using the writing process to complete various steps such as: prewriting, different types of research, audience, thesis statements, credible sources, outlines, citations, etc.
• This can be done in a set amount of tutoring sessions, depending on the needs of the student
• In-person at my home or the library
• Virtual through Zoom meeting
• $30 an hour

Homework Help: Essay Editing/Writing Feedback, flat rate per essay

Coaching for specific assignments and essays. This may include significant content development or help with revisions after an essay is written. I charge a flat rate because to have a good paper, you need to go through it multiple times. The more rough a paper is, the more rounds of revisions it needs to become a good paper. I want the student to be invested in this process and to know the cost up front. 

In helping with homework, I will assess the expectations and grading rubric and coach the student in giving their best effort to meeting their goals for the assignment. Initial read through of the essay will determine how much feedback is needed and the rate will be proposed at that point.

• $35 per essay (up to 800 words) that has a strong foundation and content
  • Includes
    • 2 rounds of revisions
    • Substantive feedback, i.e. flow, word choice, transitions, connections, etc.
    • Proofreading, i.e. grammar, citations, etc.
• $45 per essay (up to 800 words) for essays that need a lot of content development and organization
  • Includes
    • Multiple conversations about the topic during prewriting and research phases
    • Coaching to structure a thesis and outline
    • 2 rounds of revisions
    • Substantive feedback, i.e. flow, word choice, transitions, connections, etc.
    • Proofreading, i.e. grammar, citations, etc.

Homeschool Classes

• 5+ students per class in my home or at library
  • Learning to write various types of papers/texts
    • Biography, research, personal narrative, persuasive, speech, debate, news/magazine project
    • Feedback on content and grammar
    • Peer review and discussion
  • Book club
    • Discussion of literary concepts, plot, and character development, etc.
